LANE TECH FOOTBALL PLAYER IN COMMA AFTER COLLAPSING AT GAME

There was no noticeable crushing blow on the field, no gasp from the crowd when Lane Tech football player Drew Williams collapsed Friday night. Instead the scene unrolled slowly, a nightmare playing out in front of the players' parents after Williams, a senior, walked off the field at Gately Stadium on the Far South Side and had what appeared to be a seizure. Chicago Public Schools is not releasing information about Williams' injury. But according to a Web page set up to relay information about his condition, he suffered a subdural hematoma — bleeding along the surface of the brain — and is in a coma at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
