Solo’s back at it again with the second installment to his ‘ZeekosWay’ mixtape series. ‘ZeekosWay Volume 2’ is set for release in January of 2017. In contrast to the first installment, he takes the road less traveled, and passionately gives fans a vivid tour of his past experiences. He remains true to his melodic rap style, yet he takes it to higher musical heights, as he’s more explicit and hardcore than what fans are used to. The mixtape’s production is top of the line, as it features beats from heavy hitters such as Metro Boomin and 808 Mafia. The tape comes together cohesively, and does an exceptional job at bringing the fan closer to the artist. This project offers a more sharpened, and experienced version of Solo. His evolution as an artist is apparent.

After major backlash for comments made during his past few shows, it looks like the Saint Pablo Tour headlined by Kanye West could be no more. According to TMZ, he is taking a “breather to deal with personal issues.” However, according to a tweet sent out by LA Times reporter Gerrick D. Kennedy, this breather may extend until the end of the year, which would mean the rest of the tour is cancelled.

Andrew Barber is one of the biggest players in the Chicago hip hop scene. He got himself into such a position by starting a blog all the way back in 2007 called Fake Shore Drive. He was in town over the weekend, putting on a sold out Jeremih/Chief Keef show for Red Bull and I was lucky enough to get him in the studio for an awesome chat about his history in the Chicago rap scene, the power of the internet and the ever changing hip hop media landscape.
After just being released from prison this month the young Up N Comer who has done songs or shot videos with some of the cities most popular acts passed away earlier this morning from gun shots sustained. Please keep his family in your prayers.

Bryant made remarkable strikes from his outstanding debut season, reducing his strikeouts from 199 to 154 and raising his OPS by 81 points.

On the fourth day of demonstrations since the Tuesday election, protesters walked shoulder to shoulder down the Magnificent Mile to Millennium Park, pausing outside the Trump Tower along the Chicago River where police set up barricades to keep them from getting close. “No Trump, no KKK, no racist USA!” they shouted, some thrusting middle fingers in the air toward the 98-story skyscraper stamped with the Trump name. A few weeks ago, Double Door co-owners Joe Shanahan and Sean Mulroney confirmed that they had started negotiations that would pave the way to moving the club to Logan Square. The two-decade-old Wicker Park rock venue can stay in its current location “until our appeal rights are exhausted,” said Double Door attorney Cary Schiff. “We have the right to continue the appeal unimpeded” by the threat of closure. Apple plans to spend $62 million on a retail outlet currently under construction in Chicago's North Michigan Avenue shopping district, according to a construction permit issued by the city's planning department on Friday. At $63 million, the forthcoming retail shrine is shaping up to be one of Apple's most expensive U.S. undertakings to date. By comparison, construction of the Union Square flagship in San Francisco, which required the demolition of a pre-existing building, was at one point estimated to cost some $23.6 million. When completed, the Chicago Apple store will become a 20,000-square-foot anchor of the city's North Michigan Avenue shopping district. Architectural renderings unveiled in November call for a free-standing, glass-walled entry pavilion located at street-level with two grand staircases and an elevator leading down to a similarly glass-clad sales floor located just off the riverwalk. While not confirmed, the Chicago store was supposedly designed by award winning architect Norman Foster of Foster + Partners. Along with other international Apple store flagships, the architecture firm was hand picked by late Apple cofounder Steve Jobs to dream up the company's iconic Campus 2 headquarters in Cupertino.
