Slated to release on Livemixtapes Halloween day, the 10 track body of work by the 19 year old Chicagoan is his debut project and hosted by popular World Famous "DJ Shon". Light on the features, Sincere sticks to topics his age group and core fan base can relate to, "Having A Good Time". With the dark side of the city's violence, it could have been easy for him to shed light on the over used topics already being rapped by his counterparts. Instead, Mr.YFL gives listeners care free, feel good, high energy records that you can throw on in any setting and all ears would gravitate. Singles include viral video single "F***k I Look Like", and the two female friendly "On Ya Mark & Rock With You" tracks already highly regarded. Checkout the official track list on his Facebook fan page, and be sure to stream and support the young homie on his 1st time at bat! BJ the Chicago Kid was a guest on The Breakfast Club yesterday, and while he talked about a number of topics, his thoughts on ghostwriting in rap were probably the most interesting.
Before the 36-14 vote on the funding for his budget, Emanuel called the city’s finances “a dark cloud” that has been eroding the confidence of Chicagoans. Emanuel’s lower-the-boom budget will be funded in part by more than $720 million in new taxes, fines and fees. The $543 million property tax increase for police and fire pensions is the largest in Chicago history. It will be phased in over four years, with the largest chunk — $318 million — tacked on to property tax bills payable in August 2016. That hike will be followed by successive increases of $109 million payable in 2017, $53 million payable in 2018 and $63 million tacked on to the property tax bill due in 2019. A separate $45 million property tax increase will fund school construction. (link below) http://chicago.suntimes.com/news/7/71/1052027/city-council-set-ok-budget-720-million-new-taxes-fines-fees
The 26 points Okafor scored was a historic output for an NBA debut. It was the third most points scored by a Sixers player making his NBA debut in franchise history, behind only Allen Iverson (30 points) and Jerry Stackhouse (27). It was the second most points scored by a center making his NBA debut since the start of the 1963-64 season, trailing only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's 29. He was the first player, at any position, to score at least 26 points in their NBA debut since 2002, and his 26 points were the second highest total by a teenager making his NBA debut since the start of the 1963-64 season, behind only the 30 Lamar Odom scored. The American Writers Museum, set to open in Chicago in early 2017, announced on Tuesday that it would be leasing a location on North Michigan Avenue, the city’s premier shopping strip, a short walk from attractions like Millennium Park and the Art Institute of Chicago. The institution has raised more than $3.3 million toward its planned startup costs of $10 million, according to Publishers Weekly. Nike Whitcomb, the museum’s executive director, told the magazine that it expected to draw some 120,000 visitors annually and net $1.75 million in revenue by 2021.

By 2020, Nike intends to double sales in the Jordan Brand division to $4.5 billion. The store, which is located at 32 South State St., contains multiple levels with products dedicated entirely to Nike's Jordan brand. Fans packed the store, purchasing as many shoes as they can get their hands on. "I love the store, it's decorated nicely, it's a great experience. I got to see a lot of the shoes that are not out yet," said John Taylor, who has waited in line since Tuesday. "It's definitely a crazy experience, they have a great variety of sneakers, I'm definitely coming back around," said Devon Dale, a shopper.

A survey conducted by a statewide charter-school group finds that only 30 percent of Chicago Public School students attend their local neighborhood high school. According to the survey, 70 percent of CPS students opt out of their designated neighborhood high school. Of those students, 38 percent attend selective-enrollment schools, 30 percent choose charter schools, 9 percent attend other citywide non-selective schools and 23 percent attend another neighborhood high school outside their local area. After a seven-game exhibition run that saw him barely make more than a quarter of his shots, it appears that Joakim Noah will come off the bench for the Chicago Bulls to start the season. Second-year forward Nikola Mirotic will slide into the power forward slot occupied last season by Noah, who struggled both at that position and at center, which features Pau Gasol as the current starter. "Whatever is best for the team. It's not about me right now. It's about this team," Noah said. "We have to figure out ways to get better. And we will." "He didn't fight it one bit," Fred Hoiberg said. "I think he's excited to play with Taj (Gibson) and the chemistry those two have together." Uber launched a new TV and radio advertising campaign that aims to convince Chicagoans (more specifically the City Council) to allow the ride sharing service to pick up riders at the city's airports. The campaign is far and away the hardest shot Uber has taken at Chicago's taxi companies, which have protested and lobbied Uber's expansion in the city. The ads are being released a week before the City Council is scheduled to vote on whether to approve uberX pickups at Chicago's airports—a move that would net the city an additional $20 million in annual revenue, according to a press release from the company.

First there was that gigantic banner hanging down the side of the building hosting the store, and now there's the decoration of CTA Red Line trains in the city with these decals. The imagery features nods to the rich lineage of Air Jordan, from soles in Michael Jordan's size, to Jumpman logos, to mentions of Jordan Brand athletes like Quentin Richardson. Readers in Chicago should keep an eye out for this awesome mobile celebration of Jordan history cruising through their city and anticipate more to come for the upcoming opening of the 32 State Jordan store.
