Dead Prez released their debut album “Let’s Get Free” on Loud Records on this day in 2000. Dead Prez, a duo comprised of stic.man and M-1, would now continue the legacy of socially conscious, political and afro-centric hip-hop started by their predecessors like Public Enemy, Boogie Down Productions, X-Clan and Poor Righteous Teachers. Producers on “Let’s Get Free” included Hedrush, Kanye West, Lord Jamar of Brand Nubian as well as dead prez themselves.
