LOUISVILLE BASKETBALL PLAYER KEVIN WARE SUFFERS WORST ON TV INJURY

Ware, a 6-2 sophomore guard from the Bronx, crumbled to the floor after his leg snapped in two with 6:33 to play on the first half of the Cardinals' game against the Blue Devils in the Midwest Regional finals. Thornton went up for a three and Ware lunged forward to block it. The shot went in and there was no contact. Ware landed off balance and his leg simply gave in. A Tournament official told reporters that a bone in Ware's right leg had snapped.He was reportedly taken to nearby Methodist Hospital, which has experience dealing with severe injuries suffered at the Indianapolis 500.
