HANDCUFFED MAN STEALS CHICAGO POLICE CAR

A West side man was sitting in a Chicago Police vehicle after being arrested on an outstanding warrant didn’t let handcuffs stop him from stealing the squad car in an attempt to elude police. Marquette Fisher was stopped by police Friday for failing to stop at a stop sign when police discovered he was driving on a suspended license and had two warrants out for his arrest. As police were speaking with passengers in the van Fisher was driving they saw Fisher in the front of the car, his cuffed hands in front of his body, behind the wheel of the car. Police tried to stop Fisher from driving away with their car, but he managed to put it in gear and drive away. Fisher was stopped a few blocks away, but managed to evade police on foot and wasn’t apprehended until 6:20 p.m. at his home in the 1400 block of South Cicero Avenue.
