In a statement David tells us, “Chief Keef’s contract was suspended 2 weeks ago because his management went off and did a tour without our approval. Not happy with the direction they are taking him.” David feels Keef’s management is limiting the growth of his career and potential. Through their deal with the rapper, FilmOn wants to launch Chief Keef’s career further than the circuit his management team currently keeps him in. “Same sh*t over and over,” he says. “Limiting his appeal to a wider audience and I’m not saying he should sell out, just be more prolific.” What really has the 47-year-old mogul upset is who Keef is associating with in his music. “[HE] ends up making unsanctioned videos with child sex traffickers,” he told us referring to his ‘Let It Blow” video featuring Las Vegas rapper D. Flores. The Glo Gang collaborator was recently charged for allegedly kidnapping and forcing a 15-year-old girl into prostitution and has his bail set at $250,000. Although, the suspension has not been lifted and the company has decided to repo his BMW i8 while he was on tour, David still believes in Chief Keef’s stardom and understands it’s the people around him that led to his current label restrictions, “I don’t blame Keith – I blame his shady management – Keith is a f****** rap superstar.”

Chicago Est.1837 Recently Caught Up With Rising Artist "Anthony M" 1. Can you introduce yourself to the people? What's going on everyone. It's Anthony M. Chicago's Up & Coming R&B Artist. 2. When did you decide to make a career of music, and what inspired that? Well, music has always been my dream since the age of three. It was nothing that I woke up one day and decided to do (sort of speak). My grandparents played me a video recording of the HBO Michael Jackson special of his 1992 Dangerous Tour when I was three years old. Watching the way he effected the people in the crowd, watching him move about the stage, I said that was exactly what I wanted to do. 3. Whats been the most memorable moment since? I would have to say the most memorable moment for me thus far would be when I toured Paris, France with the song and dance group I was apart of at the time by the name of The Happiness Club. Being there doing what I loved made me see the endless possibilities and where I wanted to go in my own solo career. Hopefully I'll go back one day. 4. How do you deal with writers-block? I hate writers block and believe it or not, it does happen. There's no one way to handle writers block I believe. Either you go find inspiration or let the inspiration come to you. I sometimes (as crazy as it may seem) let the music speak to me and tell me what it wants to say, or I sit back and listen to how the music makes me feel in that moment. I can't explain how one really creates, it's really a higher power thing. It's God. 5. Dead Or alive if you could feature with one artist, who & why? Michael Jackson of course. I think that about sums it up. Who wouldn't. 6. What are you currently promoting or working on? Right now I'm currently promoting my newly released EP entitled #YouBeTheJude Round 1. It's the first of a three part EP. 7. Where do you see yourself the next 3-5 years? Hopefully I'll be where I want to be as far as my career. On Tour, Winning Grammy's, doing Movies, but hey, we'll just have to wait and see. (Fingers Crossed) Follow His Progress... Abbey Pub plans to cancel shows on its main stage this weekend after a fire broke out Tuesday morning at the venue in the Irving Park neighborhood. Firefighters were called to the Abbey, at 3420 W. Grace St., around 7:30 a.m. and extinguished the blaze in about 15 minutes, according to Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford. Thomas Looney, whose family owns the Abbey, said he didn't know the cause of the fire but it apparently started by the back door. Looney said the venue sustained smoke damage but the "bar area is fine." Looney said shows on the main stage are "definitely canceled" Friday and Saturday, though bands may be moved to the bar-area stage, which did not sustain damage.

Chicago Est.1837 Recently Caught Up With Talented Artist "Bianca Shaw" 1. Introduce yourself & what you stand for as an artist. My name is Bianca Shaw I am Hip Hop Emcee, Singer, and Drummer from the west side of Chicago. As an artist, I strive to create a product that inspires and brings life. I like to work on music that touches the soul whether it's one line or the entire song that moves you. I struggled for a long time with what people would think, how would I infuse rock rap and R&B and still get people to listen? If people like you they will gravitate towards you, listen to your music and they want to know who you are. Once I stopped focusing what people would think I discovered myself and what I want to represent. Real life issues people deal with on a daily basis. Love, loss, hard times. Timeless music you can listen to ten years from now and the same feeling overcomes you. 2. What inspired you to become a serious about your craft? What inspired me to become serious about my craft is being in an environment with so many hard working and talented artists. You can't help but to emulate your surroundings and want to improve in every way possible. I started going to the studio everyday just to be around and eventually started recording every week. 3. Rather dead or alive what artist would be a dream collaboration for you? There are so many I would love to collab with but I will keep it simple and say Missy Elliot. 4. How do you deal with writers block? I eat lots of snacks..leave it alone for a little while, and listen to various artists for inspiration. Really depends on the song I am writing when listening to artists. 5. Any projects, singles or videos we should be on the lookout for this year? I have my first Album Titled Guns and Roses with a release date TBA. My single "Don't Want Me" is out now and available for download. Video is set to release in October. You can find Information when visiting Biancashaw.com 6. Where do you see yourself within this industry 3-5 years from now? Where do I see myself in the industry 3-5 years from now is a tough one, I see myself not only as a female emcee but as a well known and respected artist and musician. Illinois Congressman Bobby Rush made the trek to ADX to seek out both Hoover and Kabah (formerly known as Jeff Fort) to get their take on the murder of the 9-year-old boy whose death has made national headlines and they were both “appalled.” “Right now, as I see it, [Hoover and Kabah] part of the solution, not part of the problem,” he told ABC7, as he was representing his reverend ministry. “Jeff/Malik and Larry said, ‘Use my name. Tell those youngsters to stop the killing.'” “They didn’t ask me to move mountains or to use any kind of clout to help them,” Rush said of the former gangster’s current predicament of being stuck in a cell for 23 hours of the day.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs got some good news on Monday morning as four-star shooting guard Zach Norvell decided on the program. The 6-foot-4 Norvell decided to make the long distance move from Chicago to Spokane and picked the program. Norvell chose Gonzaga over Georgetown, Iowa State, and Florida State. One of the contributing factors was Norvell’s close relationship with former Gonzaga standout Jeremy Pargo. Like Norvell, Pargo is a Chicago native, and seeing the success Pargo had for Gonzaga played a big role in Norvell committing to the program.
