AAU COACH OF MANY NBA PLAYERS INDICTED FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING

On Wednesday the architect of an AAU powerhouse that's put dozens of players into the NBA was indicted by a grand jury on drug trafficking charges, according to The Washington Post. Malone, who was arrested in 1991 for distributing crack cocaine, formed DC Assault in 1993. Its alumni include Nolan Smith, Michael Beasley, Keith Bogans, Jeff Green and James White. DC Assault has since told media it would no longer associate itself with Malone going forward. In addition, it stated Malone had lessened in influence and involvement with the program over the past few years.
