CTA TRAIN DERAILS
Chicago firefighters are rescuing passengers from a CTA train that partially derailed. The eighth car of a Red Line train fell off the tracks at Sheffield and Armitage at 11:20am. The train was heading southbound. There are no injuries, and passengers are being helped from the train. The fire department is executing a so-called “Plan 1″ (5 ambulances) to the scene as a precaution. Power was shut off on both the Red and Brown lines southbound, and on the Red Line northbound between Sedgwick and Armitage Avenues. Shuttle buses are set up between the Southport and Sedgwick stations on the Brown Line and between Fullerton and North/Clybourn on the Red Line.
