SPORTS: JORDAN GOODWIN LEADS BELLEVILLE ALTHOFF TO CLASS 3A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

6'4 Jordan Goodwin (Belleville Althoff) is the winningest and most productive player in Illinois high school basketball and he's just a junior! He might not be the most athletic or the highest ranked on the national lists, but Goodwin is a pure basketball player and he wins! He doesn't need a "position at the next level."
Scoring over 1700 career points in high school so far, Goodwin led the Belleville Althoff Crusaders (32-2) to its first Boys Basketball state title after finishing second in 2015. Goodwin has dominated varsity basketball since he stepped on the court as a freshman. As a sophomore, he led team in scoring (20 ppg), rebounding (8.4) and second in assists (2.5).
As a junior, he did it again, averaging a team high 19 ppg with a team high 293 rebounds and 99 assists. Goodwin is as competitive and physical as any high school player. He guards the opponent's best player, even if it means a 7 inch size disadvantage as it did in Peoria vs St Joes' 6'11 Nick Rakocevic.
