CHILD DIES AFTER BEING LEFT IN CAR IN 90 DEGREE WEATHER

An O'Fallon, Ill., toddler was reported dead today after being found inside a car, where he was left for two hours. The 23-month-old boy's father was reportedly loading him into the car to go to the park around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday but became distracted. Temperatures that day were in the 90s. Wayne Hubert, 32, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Police say Hubert put the boy in the car around 2:30 p.m. and went back into the home. The charges say Hubert "consumed alcohol to a level which caused him to pass out on the floor." The boy's mother came home around 5 p.m. and found the child lifeless.
