SPORTS: CHICAGO FIRE ATTENDANCE UP DESPITE WORST SEASON IN TEAM HISTORY

Riding World Cup buzz and the momentum of Major League Soccer, the Chicago Fire increased attendance this year despite winning the fewest games in its 17-season history.
It's a big offseason ahead for the Fire, especially off the field.
The team is putting the finishing touches on the new $15 million to $20 million Chicago Fire Soccer Center in the North Center neighborhood, set to become its first outpost in the city.
Indoor soccer leagues are set to begin there Dec. 1 under a dome on the artificial turf field at 3626 N. Talman Ave.
