SPORTS: SIMEON HIGH SCHOOL STAR "ZACH NORVELL" COMMITS TO GONZAGA
The Gonzaga Bulldogs got some good news on Monday morning as four-star shooting guard Zach Norvell decided on the program. The 6-foot-4 Norvell decided to make the long distance move from Chicago to Spokane and picked the program.
Norvell chose Gonzaga over Georgetown, Iowa State, and Florida State. One of the contributing factors was Norvell’s close relationship with former Gonzaga standout Jeremy Pargo. Like Norvell, Pargo is a Chicago native, and seeing the success Pargo had for Gonzaga played a big role in Norvell committing to the program.

Gus’s will open the doors of its Chicago outpost at 11am this Monday at the new Fulton Market roost at 847 W Fulton Market.
The Memphis-based spicy bird empire will serve up its signature made-to-order chicken alongside traditional Southern sides (make sure to grab some of the killer fried green tomatoes) and on Gus’s standard paper plate service. Gus’s is famous for its secret recipe, which only a few individuals know, that creates a surprisingly light and perfectly spiced crust wrapped around seriously juicy chicken. The restaurant also plans to offer some regional fare in the future. Here’s hoping we get some Southern spins on local favorites soon.
SPIKE LEE TALKS "CHI-RAQ" AND CALLS OUT MAYOR IN CHICAGO MAGAZINE INTERVIEW
Spike lee sits down with Chicago Magazine To Talk His Forthcoming Film Chi-Raq And Its Controversy.
You’d barely announced the film when Mayor Emanuel went ballistic over the title and summoned you to City Hall in April. How did that go?
[Chuckles and shakes his head.] OK, so that’s where your mayor and I got off on the wrong foot, right away. What I didn’t like was him trying to paint me as this villain. I’m not the bad guy, but that’s how he was trying to portray it. Do I have the guns? Am I the one pulling the trigger? To be honest, he’s a bully.
